Working From Home Isn't For Everyone!

I am a Mompreneur, meaning that I am a mother who has my own business. I have to take this moment to give a mighty hello to ALL of the mother's out there working hard (in the home, or out of the home) to provide for their family. Daddy's, I LOVE ya'll too, there are so many GREAT people out there contributing to the success of their families!! May the Lord bless you all!!

I am currently a home based business owner. I help people make money. and save money on their energy bills.

This is NOT a get rich quick scheme, there is no such thing!! If you think you can sit at home, do nothing, and make $100K/year, you are fooling yourself!! If that were possible, EVERYONE would be doing it! Just like there is no magic pill for weight loss, there is no magic home business that will allow you to do nothing, and make money.
I work my business part-time. I work it hard for now to build my residual income. I figure I can work this business for a few years, and work the residual income into my future retirement plan. How many of you will work in the corporate world, and retire with nothing but your 401K, or maybe a pension if you are lucky? I want more for my family, and that is why I started my business.
I put in several hours a week to obtain customers ( I just got another customer today while typing this blog...yeah). My business success thus far is because of my focus and commitment to WIN. In a typical month, I take successful, business minded people to opportunity meetings. Here they can see this amazing investment/opportunity for themselves, and ask questions. I go to at least one opportunity meeting a week. I pass out at least 10 business cards per day, and I try to go to at least 2 networking events per month. I talk to friends, acquaintances, family, ect to find out if I can save them money on their energy bill ( electricity in TX and natural gas in GA). If I can save them money, then they switch their service for FREE by going to my website http://plan2succeednow.igniteinc.biz/ (click on enroll for service to be a customer, or opportunity to see the business model). If I can't save them money, then I don't encourage them to switch. Although, I have had family members that will switch to support me in my business, even though I am not saving them any money. As I said before, God as blessed me with a supportive network of people that surround my daughter and I. I am so humbled, and grateful.

Working a home based business is not for everyone. If you are not disciplined, organized, determined, and committed to success, then working from home is not for you. If you are broke and looking for a quick buck, then work at home opportunities, especially network marketing opportunities probably aren't for you! I had to invest money to start my business. It was not a considerable amount of capital, but I did have to begin with money. For me, failure is NOT an option. I am a single mom with a wonderful daughter to support. I love my life! I stay upbeat, and choose NOT to participate in the recession! I live on less than I make, and help as many people as I can EVERY single day.
Some people have a problem with multi-level marketing, they call them pyramid schemes. According to the Federal Trade Commission a pyramid scheme is
"A program not based on profits from any real investment or real sale of goods to the public. Some schemes may purport to sell a product, but they often simply use the product to hide their pyramid structure. There are two tell-tale signs that a product is simply being used to disguise a pyramid scheme: inventory loading and a lack of retail sales. Inventory loading occurs when a company's incentive program forces recruits to buy more products than they could ever sell, often at inflated prices. If this occurs throughout the company's distribution system, the people at the top of the pyramid reap substantial profits, even though little or no product moves to market. The people at the bottom make excessive payments for inventory that simply accumulates in their basements. A lack of retail sales is also a red flag that a pyramid exists."
I believe that illegal pyramid scams that cheat people out of millions with false promises should all be wiped out. There are good pyramids though, not scams; our every day lives contain pyramids. If you think about it, everyone works in a pyramid. The CEO of a company generally makes more than the hourly associate. The boss normally makes money based on the productivity of those below him. If you work in corporate America, chances are you are in a pyramid. I have been in the Human Resources and Recruiting field for over ten years. As a Sr. Recruiter, I got paid to recruit people to the company, and I also got paid off of the work of the people that I managed. In my opinion that is no different than a legit Multi-Level Marketing company such as Avon, Mary Kay, or Ignite. I love what the network marketing industry has done for me! I have built life long relationships, and made money in the process.
I would love to hear your home based business struggles and successes. Please comment below!! I look forward to hearing from all of you!!
